UGANDA - RWANDA SAFARI:

Uganda and Rwanda are two countries located along the western arm of the Rift Valley, characterized by different landscapes, but unified by the presence of the green colors and green hills. Two different experiences of the African landscape and culture. This tour is a full immersion in the true nature, the forests and biodiversity. You will encounter cultures and traditions of the central; Africa region. You will follow the river Nile at Murchison falls in Uganda, descending along the Albertine rift escarpment down to the "thousand hills" and lakes of Rwanda.

Day 1-Entebbe / Kampala.
On the arrival at Entebbe international airport you will be met by a representative of Advantage Safaris who will transfer you to your Hotel in Entebbe a short distance from the airport for a welcome drink and safari briefing. Overnight: Anderita Beach Hotel.

Murchison falls - uganda Day 2- Murchison Falls - The River Nile.
After breakfast, leave Kampala driving North-West Lunch in Masindi. Precede to Murchison Falls National Park the largest conservation area in Uganda, with 3.840 kms, named after the falls on the Victoria Nile. We shall make a stopover at the site of the "Top of the falls" to enjoy the marvelous views of the falls from above. Dinner and overnight at Nile Safari Camp.

Day 3 Game Drive-Boat Trip on the Victoria Nile.
After an early breakfast, game drive in the northern sector of the park towards the Delta area to view and take photographs of elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, giraffes, Uganda kobs, lions, there are high chances of coming across a pride of lions and leopards .There are also numerous birds species. Today in the afternoon, we shall enjoy a boat trip on the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls. This is an opportunity to see hippos, crocodiles along the riverbanks and many water birds. Overnight: Nile Safari Camp.

Day 4-Murchison - Fort portal.
After breakfast drive from Murchison Falls heading South west via the Albertine Escarpment of the great Western Rift Valley. Through Hoima and reach Fort portal, the capital of the Toro kingdom, situated in the shadow of the fabled "Mountains of the moon," the Rwenzori.Have lunch. In the afternoon we visit the Royal Palace and Toro Botanical gardens and learn about the medicinal plants in the Albertine Rift area. Overnight: Mountains of the Moon Hotel.

DAY 5- Fort portal - Queen Elizabeth National park.
Take an early morning breakfast after which we shall proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park one of the most biologically diverse faunal reserves in Africa famous for large herds of, elephants, buffalos, warthogs, Uganda Kob, lions and many bird species, In the evening our group will enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, The banks of the channel are lined with many animals and this launch trip provides a rare opportunity for bird watchingDinner and overnight at Mweya Safari lodge/Jacana Lodge.

Chimpanzee Tracking - uganda Day 6 Chimpanzee Tracking at Kyambura Gorge.
After a cup of coffee, with a packed breakfast we shall join local guides at Kyambura George for a forest walk looking for chimpanzees in a ravine forest. This George is 16 km long 100 meter deep. After the primate walk, we shall return to the lodge to freshen up and enjoy a couple of hours at the pool and wait for lunch. In the evening we shall enjoy another game drive, Overnight: Mweya Lodge/Jacana Lodge.

Day 7- Mweya - Ishasha.
After an early breakfast, we shall travel to Ishasha the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park famous for prides of tree climbing lions. We shall enjoy a game drive in this wilderness area and later retire to our camp for a well earned rest overnight: Savannah Resort.

Day 8 Ishasha - Rwanda.
After an early breakfast we shall enjoy a short game drive in Ishasha then travel to Rwanda and our destination today will be Ruhengeri at the gate of Parc National des volcans. Dinner and overnight Kinigi Guest House.

Day 9-Mountain Gorilla Tracking.
Today morning you will join local guides for gorilla tracking in Parc National Des Volcans, atropical rain forest covering the hills of the five Virunga volcanoes. It was here where the famous biologist Dian Fossey worked until her death in 1985.Gorilla tracking is an experience of a lifetime and one never to be forgotten, quite demanding but a rewarding experience. After locating the gorillas our group will be allowed to be with them for some time after which we shall return to our camp for a rest. Overnight: Kinigi Guest House.

Day 10- Lake Kivu in Gisenyi.
After breakfast leave Ruhengeri and proceed to Gisenyi traversing a scenic countryside with beautiful views of volcanoes and the rift valley. Gisenyi is a pretty town located on the shores of Lake Kivu, the main water body of Rwanda. Overnight: Palm Beach Hotel.

Day 11- Kigali and culture of Rwanda.
After breakfast you will travel to Kigali the capital city of Rwanda. Today's activities will include a visit to the museum, craft shops, the royal palace and the genocide memorial. Overnight: Hotel-Chez Lando.

DAY 13- Kigali - Akagera National Park.
After breakfast, depart for Akagera national park located along the Tanzanian boarder of Rwanda. After lunch at the Lodge, go for game drive in the park and take the boat trip on the lake Ihema to see the large number of hippo, the huge Nile crocodile and birds. the park is famous for its herds of game animals including Burchell's Zebra, lions , elephants , topi, giraffes, impalas and over 425 species of birds including the Shoe bill Stock, African jacana, sacred ibis goliath heron. Dinner and overnight at Akagera Game Lodge.

Day 14- Akagera National Park - Mbarara.
Early morning game drive along the trials of Akagera National park northwards while exiting the park, you will arrive in Uganda in the afternoon and our destination today is Mbarara town in Ankole country famous for the indigenous long horned cattle. Overnight, Agip Motel. In alternative, drive back to Kigali for dinner and overnight at Hotel - Chez Lando.

Day 15.
Reserved for departure flights from Entebbe International airport or Kigali International airport.
